There are many mysteries in life, and most will never be fully explained. The chillingly beautiful work of the digital sculptor Hinemaru poses a few of the more intractable quandaries. His gallery consists largely of one young virtual woman in an assortment of bikinis and casual clothes. More interesting, however, is her penchant for dressing up as sexy anime heroines.
Why does this woman masquerade, for instance, as the sexy cyborg Major Kusanagi from the Ghost in the Shell television series? What significance can there be in dressing up as Final Fantasy‘s Tifa Lockheart, other than making suspenders and boots look more enticing than most lingerie? How does anyone, especially an emotionless clone such as Rei Ayanami from the unfathomable epic Evangelion, manage to make a high-tech wetsuit the must have outfit for the second coming?
We may never know these answers, but we must thank Hinemaru for his contributions to some of life’s most compelling mysteries.
