With his characteristically glacial pace, we’ve noticed that Johnathan Darkly has been experimenting with his latest animations. These latest videos seem to be playing with depth of field to ironically provide more focus, and an almost claustrophobic intimacy with his sensual subjects.

These are still familiar characters, but viewed with a renewed obsession with repeating animations — or loops as they’re called — featuring Darkly’s digital sculptures from many revealing angles.

We can only hope for more compelling glimpses of his odd assortment of atypical cuties. With enough patience even a glacier will level a mountain.
