Film Review Magazine recently conducted a poll to determine the ‘The Top 10 Sci-Fi Babes’. I’m not quite sure how Barbarella landed on top, but I suspect that it’s got more to do with the half-forgotten schoolboy fantasies of baby boomers than a scientific evaluation of the candidates.

Milla Jovovich’s Leloo belongs on this list, but is hardly the number two babe, and Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia deserves much more than a mere fourth place. After all, Leia has inspired countless artists to imagine the treasures that lie beneath her royal robes. That Jennifer Connelly and Nicole Kidman failed to even appear in their top 10 is proof enough of it’s failings.

The moral of the story here is clear: never let a statistician do a fanboy’s job.
