Ursula Vernon

A lovely Orc woman in art nouveau style holding a large blue mushroom. A nude woman with long wild hair sitting with her boar. A naked, tattooed woman with short black hair lying on a divan.

It needs to be said that the majority of Ursula Vernon‘s work at Metal and Magic does not involve sexy women and mythological creatures. Almost all of her work involves incredibly cute animals. She does, however, have an entire section of her site devoted to the (more or less) human female form, and her excellence in this regard is worthy of special attention.

While her subjects range from angels and fairies, to warriors and animal mixes, the common thread that binds this diverse collection is a sense of deep introspection and mystery. There’s plenty of whimsy to be found as well, but the chaos is tempered by an underlying love of nature and harmony.

Each of these women has a story to tell…. if you just listen.
